Chapter F Director - Steve "Doc" Alvarez and Robin508-386-3967goldwingrider@comcast.net
"Doc" and "Nana G." joined GWRRA MA Chapter F in July of 2007. In fact, Doc walked into his first gathering and left as Chapter Director! When he left that gathering he said to himself "What the heck did I just get myself into?" and "Robin's never going to believe this!" But since that night Doc has said on many occasions "It's been a great ride so far! There are so many fantastic people associated with GWRRA, and I'm proud to serve them." Robin adds "We've made so many new friends since joining and wouldn't trade this experience for anything." Doc and Robin reside in Berkley, Ma and have been happily married for many wonderful years. They have three terrific children; Russell, Mandy and Andrew. They are also blessed with four beautiful grandchildren; Jayda, Andrew Jr., Ava Jean and the latest addition, Skyla May. Doc serves the Town of Dighton as a full-time firefighter/ paramedic. He also serves the Town of Berkley in the same capacity on an "on-call" basis. As you might imagine his greatest passion, besides his love of family, is motorcycling. He also enjoys movies, reading, teaching and helping others in any way he can. He also serves as Vice President of the Dighton Permanent Firefighters Association and as Treasurer of the Dighton Fire Association. Robin is a security specialist with Protection Plus Security. She is a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. Doc describes her as "my hero" and "the bravest person I know" for reasons he wishes to keep private. Robin also shares Doc's love of motorcycling as well as movies, video games, scrap-booking and love of music to name a few of her favorite hobbies. "We're happiest when we're riding the open roads," says Nana G. Doc's father Bob and brother Mike are also members of GWRRA. In fact, Bob joined GW back when the organization was in it's infancy (his membership number is lower than 7000). "I'm very proud of my father and brother, and really enjoy riding with them and the fact that we are all members of GWRRA makes the experiences so much more special." They have all been Gold Wing riders for the more than thirty years. Well, that's their story for now. Watch for Doc, Nana G., Bob, Mike, and the rest of the Alvarez clan riding the highways and byways promoting "Fun, Safety and Knowledge" as proud members of GWRRA..... "Ride safe, have fun, or stay home! " |
